Complaint Category: Delayed completion of repair

Complaint: Had a home built by **** ***** of Dream Home Construction, LLC. Had a verbal and written contract that any problems or repairs would be taken care of.
We signed a contract with **** ***** of Dream Home Construction on X-XX-XX to build our home.The final cost was 281,484.64. **** county's final inspection was on 11-14-12.Prior to moving in we found some issues that we talked to **** about. He said we would probably find more after we moved in and he would take care of them, even if it was past our warranty period of one year. Over the last year we have reported these problems to ****,by phone,in person,by email,and certified letter. Some of the problems he has taken care of. Other problems, he promised to send someone over to fix ,but no one ever came. We emailed him letters and pictures along with sending him a certified letter with a list and pictures of the things that needed to be fixed. We never received any kind of response from Mr *****. It is almost a year and the repairs have not been done. We paid him approximately 14,000 for a concrete driveway and parking pad, it began to break ,crumble and crack about a month after being poured. Mr *****, after months went by sent someone to fix one area that had broke. The driveway has one area that is broke that is 20 ft long and is getting wider all the time. There is another that is 10 ft .There are several areas that have large chunks of concrete that have broken off. There are multiple cracks around the foundation. This gives me concern whether the foundation itself is detereating. We were suppose to have wood window sills. Instead they put pressboard in. **** had them changed out ,but there was a lot of damage to the sheetrock and paint around the windows. They also need to be caulked around, as cold air is coming in around them. I sent Mr ***** an email concerning this on May 1, 2013. I also discussed it with him. There is door trim that doesn't meet the wall and you can see where the sheet rock ends. There is an electrical problem with one of the GFI outlets, it keeps tripping. One of the outside doors won't latch or lock. One inside door won't latch. One of the showers that was used for the first time will not spray it just drizzles water from it. The bathroom sinks will not drain properly. My kitchen sink faucet was not tightened down properly and has been loose since day one. There were a lot of major mistakes made in building the house as well as minor ones. Most were poor workmanship that was done by the people **** ***** hired to do the work. We liked Mr. ***** but some of the people he hired did substandard work. We have fixed some of the things our self out of neccessity ,but should not have had to do that. We have been very patient over the last year, but it is getting us no where. It is also very upsetting that we honored our part of the contract and paid him and he can not even show us the courtesy of contacting us and getting the repairs done.

This matter with the ******'s have been taken care of. Mrs. ****** was trying to call me and unable to leave a message and then sent a complaint to the BBB. When we received the notice from BBB we contacted the ******* and fixed the issue.
