Join a Local BBB

Members of local BBBs are businesses and firms which:

  • meet tough BBB membership standards,
  • agree to follow the highest principles of business ethics and voluntary self-regulation, and
  • have a proven record of marketplace honesty and integrity .

Staunchly Neutral
Today's BBBs are committed to the belief that the majority of marketplace problems can be solved through voluntary self-regulation. They understand the perspective of both consumers and businesses.

BBBs champion marketplace ethics and hold member and non-member businesses alike accountable to the highest standards of honesty in their advertising and selling.

Local Member Benefits
Local BBB member companies receive access to all Bureau publications, programs, services and publications as the direct benefits of membership. Benefits may vary from Bureau to Bureau but generally include:

  • BBB Affiliation
  • Special Programs such as BBBOnLine and BBB CARE
  • Access to valuable educational BBB publications, alerts, and business information
  • Association with the thousands of other top businesses that make up the nationwide team of BBB member companies

How to Join
Companies which wish to join their local Better Business Bureau must meet and maintain that Bureau's membership standards. Applications for local membership should be made directly to the appropriate BBB office.

As a neutral third-party, Bureaus provide reliability reports and handle complaints about member and non-member companies on a consistent basis.
