BBB Consumer Guide out to help consumers find local, trustworthy businesses

February 12, 2014

Vancouver, BC – The Better Business Bureau (BBB) Consumer Guide is out this week and your BBB welcome consumers to use it as a resource to find local businesses they can trust.

The Consumer Guide is an annual print directory for the nearly 3,600 Accredited Businesses of the Better Business Bureau serving Mainland BC. All of the companies have been screened by BBB staff to ensure they meet the Standards for Trust, approved by a local Board of Directors to use the BBB Accredited Business logo, and are continually monitored for performance in the marketplace.

“Our Consumer Guide is a one-stop shop for people who may need to do significant work done to their homes or are looking for other business services,” says Danielle Primrose, President and CEO of the Better Business Bureau serving Mainland BC. “We help to demystify the process of finding a business by doing the homework for the consumer and providing a free list of companies who voluntarily agree to standards that show a high commitment to business ethics and performance.”

From February 13-14, 300,000 Consumer Guides will bedistributed through inserts in the following newspapers across Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley: The Abbotsford News, The Burnaby Now, The Chilliwack Times, The Delta Optimist, The Langley Advance, The Maple Ridge/Pitt Meadow Times, New Westminster - The Record, North & West Vancouver - North Shore News, The Richmond News, The Squamish Chief, Surrey - The Now, Surrey, Tri-Cities - The Now, and the Vancouver Courier.
