    Checkpoint Plumbing (CP) was hired by my ******* Mum. The owners of the company live in her neighbourhood & said they could help her with a list of issues she had. Some of the problems that came up were: 1. CP was hard to book. 2. CP did eventually come to fix her furnace, but the fix didn’t last. When asked to come back again they dragged their feet, in the middle of winter, before claiming they didn’t have anyone to send. CP also tried to blame the issues on our **** thermostats. * ********** ***** *********** ******** **** * **** **** **** ** **** ******** * *** *** ***** * ***** **** ** ***** ***** *** **** **** ** **** ***** ** *** ** *** ** *** **** ********  3. CP installed a new tap in the kitchen but it’s always dripping. The new hose is also inferior & kinks easily. CP acknowledged by email the need to get a 2nd tap & said we didn’t have to pay until the issue was resolved. CP never dealt with this issue. 4. CP was supposed to provide us with a quote to replace a laundry room sink. It even said this in their invoice but we never received a quote & we still have an unusable sink in the laundry room. 5. CP quoted us to replace the furnace & hot water tank for $7-10,000. ** **** *** ***** ******* ****** **** ************ *** ******** *** *** ***** **** *** ***** ******* CP had suggested a tankless system *** ** ***** **** ** ***** **** *** **** ***** ******* *** *** ** ******* *** ****** * ***** ** ***** *********** *** *** ***** **** ***** ** *** ****** ******* Anyways, had CP came out to look at the furnace when asked, we probably would have hired them to replace the entire system. 6. In our last call with CP we made it clear we would pay once they dealt with all outstanding issues & made an adjustment to their overall bill as they failed to fix the furnace & wouldn’t come back to look at it again, resulting in us ****** ** **** ** ** *** ***** ********* ******** ** ***** ********** *** ** **** ********* **** ** ******* ************

    Check Point Technician attended (no) heat service call for **** *** Oct 8, 2020 which encompassed: 1/ Checked Super Hot Model Boiler: Pilot Light Out - Pulled out Burner Assembly, Vacuumed Unit and Exchanger, Cleaned Pilot, replaced bad Thermocouple and cleaned out and re-installed Burner Tubes. Fired up Boiler, tested all Zone Valves – Repair Successful. 2/ Checked Thermostats: Nest type, working but one must be operated by hand - owner agreed to check ****** for direction. 3/ Fire brick boiler cracking concerns: Metal Boiler metal with considerable metal piping in the system - piping throughout the house in-floor is Poly B type pipe which brings oxygen in through the Poly B, resulting in rusting, corrosion and causing the Boiler to break down. Provided feedback including installing a new system compatible with the existing Poly B pipe throughout the homes floors and options/quotes to be provided. 4/ Inspected ***** 50 Gallon Gas Water Heater Model *****: unit is 14 years old - average life is approximately 10 years. **** *** then requested same day service in supplying and installing new (*****) Kitchen Faucet. Technician accommodated her request, picked up new faucet from supplier, returned and installed. Requested Toilet Repair: Technician accommodated, pulled up existing Toilet in the Master Bathroom, cleaned base, installed new wax seal and bolts, re-installed shim base and caulked Toilet base. Run Test – good. Additionally, client requested Laundry Sink “leak issue” inspection; Stainless Steel fill tub checked for leaks, sourced pin hole at base. Provide quote for replacement 20”x20” Stainless Sink - Single hole (noted: existing laundry Faucet is fine). Oct 20th, 2020 Check Point provided invoice for materials and services provided as well as quotes for new replacement model “Super Hot Boiler”, 50 Gallon Hot Water Tank, and a High Efficiency Tankless Combi Boiler Unit option(s). Dec 2020; *** *** apologized for payment delay citing ****** ******* and commented that the spout clearance on kitchen faucet made filling her tea pot awkward. Check Point seeking to 100% satisfy any concerns offered to upgrade the faucet with a taller neck pull out sprayer, absorb the cost of the current (now used faucet) and install new upgrade with no additional labour cost which clients approved and Check Point provided (3) Jan date options for installation. Feb 2021: Check Point reached out to inquire on status of boiler option quote(s) and upgrade installation and 90 days+ overdue invoice payment. Oct 2020 products and all services rendered invoice remains to this writing, 18 months overdue/unpaid.
