***** and ***,

It is with deep disappointment that I write this letter to you today. It is clear that my requests for your engagement to resolve the problems related to the work on my home, have been neither understood nor properly addressed.

Therefore, I have requested that the Better Business Bureau assist me in resolving this matter in a timely manner, in keeping with the terms of my contract, your warranty on workmanship and materials and your personal guarantee as stated on your website (see screenshot).

I contacted you on September 22 to inform you that the paint was cracking and peeling in several areas of the exterior of my home and that things that were supposed to be done, had not been. I pointed out at the time areas that were never painted behind plants along my foundation, areas where the stucco was supposed to be patched but was not, the fact that my front door stop had been patched, but not replaced as per our contract, etc.

I expressed concern that the ***** *********** paint product was not only failing to perform according to both Integrity Painting and manufacturer guarantees, but was failing terribly only a few weeks after application.

The following are some faults that can be easily observed at my level of sight:

Trim:

1- The trim only received 1 coat of paint in most places. In the sunlight, one can see streaks of the original ivory underneath the white. In spots such as my front living room window and door, the painters painted over peeled paint and did not clean the surface as they should have. Neither did they prime. They left nails in that should have been pulled and filled and the edges are not neat.

Stucco:

1- extensive surface cracking, chipping and peeling of paint on all walls where they failed to remove the old material.

2- missed areas where the painters never bothered to paint behind shrubs or ground plants.

3- screws (and/or holes) left in the stucco where there had been a trellis in the front on either side of the front bedroom window.

4- nails left around my front door which should have been removed and filled.

5- gaps in the stucco where they failed to fill the base of the foundation, most notably under the front bedroom window.

6- extensive areas in the front bedroom wall and corner where the paint is curling, especially along the corner where the bedroom wall joins the front hall wall.

What prompted me to engage the Better Business Bureau was that after explaining problems and ethical issues related to a painter assigned to oversee the project originally, Integrity Painting sent him again to my home.

He was hostile, challenging, photographed and recorded everything I said and accused me of damaging my own home.

That day he had delegated the repair to a person not professionally skilled and NOT an employee of Integrity Painting, but rather an employee of *** *********** (with whom I have no contract, owned and operated by **** *********

** ******* has demonstrated he is both incompetent and deceitful.

After bringing his ethical violations and related concerns to the attention of Ms. ***** ******* on October 1 via a phone conversation, I was appalled that Integrity Painting should send him back to my home on October 2.

*** ******* had coerced me to sign off on my contract before he completed his tasks, promising to return the following week to finish. He never returned.

He left unfinished:

1- the replacement of the front door stop (he patched the rotten wood it so it would "be good enough pass ****** inspection" - (his words)

2- my front porch (it was supposed to receive 2 coats of stain but only received 1)

3- the exterior light fixtures (not painted)

Now it is apparent that he did not do any of the initial work correctly and failed to properly supervise his on site workers, who were inexperienced.

I am officially requesting that all and any remedial measures be taken to;

a) rectify deficiencies,
b) complete tasks that were omitted (in accordance with Integrity Painting's 25 step guarantee process as outlined in my contract),
c) ensure that the product is properly applied so that it can fulfill its warranty and live up to its potential,
d) have the repair overseen by a competent painter or *** ******* personally.

Failing this, I would like a full refund, in accordance with the guarantee prominently featured on Integrity Painting's website (see screen capture), as I will have to hire someone to redo the entire house in the Spring.

Sincerely,
***** ******

I submitted a letter to Integrity Painting and the Better Business Bureau on October 5, 2014. **********

I am sorry to have to report that the front doorstop replacement is coming away from the house. A noticeable crack appeared this week across the entire top of the doorstop, including along base of the the door lintel where it connects. It gives when stepped on. It seems it was not properly attached to the main doorstop and is not level.

Can you please address this before it causes any damage to the good wood between the storm door and inside door?

I would also note that this repair will not be possible to paint due to the cold weather.

I would like the replacement wood sealed prior to its installation to protect it from the elements and a written promise that it will be painted as soon as weather permits this Spring.

Sincerely,
***** ******

Final Business Response
I am having the work completed to ***** ******* door threshold on Monday. The plan is for my worker to go there today and determine what needs to be done and have the work completed on Monday.

Let me know if this works for *****. I feel we should be able to complete the work without interruption to *****'s schedule.
