To qualify for participation in the charity seal program, a charity is required to meet all BBB Charity Review Standards. These standards are inclusive of all BBB membership standards for businesses, including requirements for truthful advertising and prompt and appropriate response to any complaints.
Charities that meet BBB Charity Review Standards and enroll to participate in the charity seal program may sign a BBB membership agreement and be listed as a BBB member at no additional cost to the charity. Charity seal fees will be payable to the BBB Consumer Education Fund, Inc. which is responsible for the BBB charity review program.
In no event shall the charity seal fee be greater than regular BBB membership dues payable by a qualifying charity based on the BBB regular dues schedule for businesses. The BBB’s regular dues schedule for businesses determines dues based on the number of employees rather than annual revenues. In the event that the seal fee would be higher than the fee charged to a business with a corresponding number of employees, the seal fee shall be reduced to an amount equal to the business membership dues amount.
