Adaptive has abusive, violent, & racist aides & after complaints with witnesses, they refuse to act. My grandmother has an aide with adaptive named Carrie. On Wednesday, January 18th the aide, Carrie, was upset because she was asked to move her car to the main road, as it was blocking my car in. My grandmother & i share a 2 unit duplex building on e. spring st. in new albany & parking is in the back. there’s a side street for public parking, bc of the parking being so limited behind our building. when asked to move her car, Carrie stormed outside, approached my vehicle, (where my 8 y/o daughter & i were waiting for her to move so we could leave) & said; “you’re ridiculous”, VERY hostile. bc my child was in the car, i stepped out. Carrie did not want to walk the 30 feet to park in the public parking & was upset that i didn’t want her blocking my car in. while explaining to her that there’s other parking available, i was calm & it made her very angry. she got into her vehicle, rolled her window down, while continuing to scream. i repeated, “okay, drive safe” about 10 times so we could end the confrontation, bc again, my child was hearing everything. that made it worse. she screamed, “you are disgusting, i hope you get into an accident. i’m going to call cps on you bc i see the N*****ERS coming over and *** **** **** N***ERS D_! you are ugly, get your face fixed”, and she continued to go on, very aggressive & spewing racial slurs. note: Carrie is a white woman, my grandmother is white & i’m biracial/black woman. carrie sat in her car for 20 min. then left. i called and spoke with Mindy from adaptive who asked me if i could just avoid Carrie if they sent her back. i told her i feared for our safety when she is around. Mindy then gave excuses for her behavior. once the call ended, Mindy called back & “apologized” for lying and said she would “investigate this issue”. we have suffered tremendously since this incident & will be pursuing legal action against both parties.
