On October 31, 2022 this dentist made me a partial crown. They provided me with an estimate of $1362.00 and my portion was $243.89 which I paid that day. Balance was submitted to my insurance company and they denied payment because the code for this crown was not covered under my policy. After talking with my insurance company and another dentist I was informed that when she submitted the estimate she knew that it was not covered. The dentist have all the information as to what is covered and what is not. My insurance co. Asked me to discuss it with her and see if she would adjust the cost based on what would have been paid if it had been covered. I had several conversations with her assistant in November about the bill and she indicated that it would be taken care of. Didn’t hear anything until the first part of March and they are NOT willing to work with me at all and are billing me for the full.$994.11 which they would not have gotten even if had been covered. I have been with this dentist for 25+ years and Now to find our she is dishonest! In conversation with her billing person has told me so many lies. I am shocked that they are not willing to work with me on this bill and accept what the insurance company would have paid which would have been 50% of the allowed amount. This was an error on her part or a blatant attempt to overcharge me and I Should not have to pay this for a downgraded product that she used. That’s part of the reason that the insurance company does not cover this. I will be glad to return it to her and go somewhere else and get the proper appliance. The code she used was ***** and my insurance covers codes ***** ***** ******** ****. She knew that ***** was not covered. She needs to write off the $994.11 because I paid her $243.89 which is what her estimate stated and the estimate shows that my balance due is $0.00.
