The Better Business Bureau advises that legitimate sweepstakes do not require you to purchase anything in order to be eligible to win a prize. In most cases, very few customers who enter a sweepstake will win a significant prize. It has been the Bureau's experience that legitimate sweepstakes companies do not ask you to pay handling fees, taxes or other charges.
