Additional Notes

Complaint: ********** ******** (***) had Willis Klein install a double front door at out office on 4/9/13. *** contacted Willis Klien because of multiple problems/issues with the installation. *** contacted ****** ******, salesman from Willis Klein, to come out & look at the problems. Mr. ****** came to the office on 4/18/13. Mr. ****** told *** that the door installation was acceptable even thought *** pointed out that the door was letting air & rain in, the entire door jiggled with the wind, the plexiglass in both doors was discolored & scratched, & the door astragal seal was installed on the outside of the active door when it should have been installed on the inside of the inactive door. This left the door deadbolt exposed on the outside. *** also pointed out that we could see daylight through the bottom of the doors, allowing insects, rodents, and rain to enter the building. We also voiced displeasure that the door installers did not ask anyone from *** if we had any questions or wanted to try the keys, look at the door, etc. in addition to the disruption that the 2 door installers caused during installation (cursing, bantering back & forth). On 4/26/13, Mr. ****** returned to *** at our request, along with 1 of the installers and Mr. *** *******, who is Mr. ******' manager. *** was trying to discuss the issues at hand. Willis Klein repeatedly told our Operations Manager, ***** *****, that they had done door installs of this tupe for many years and had excuses for the couple of issues we had time to bring up. When ***** asked for a copy of the signed work order, Mr. ******* said they would have 1 faxed over. Instead, another copy of the invoice was faxed to ***. ***** again asked where *** had signed that the doors were installed to our satisfaction. This set off Mr. ******* at which point he asked if *** was not going to pay for the install. ***** said it depended on the fixes and then Mr. ******* instructed the door installer & Mr. ****** to pack up & leave as they were 'wasting their time'. ***** immediately phoned the Willis Klein office & asked to speak to the owner. Mr. Klein was not available but ***** was told that a message would be given to Mr. Klein.

Desired Settlement: *** does not feel that we have an acceptable door installation. We plan to hire someone else to install the door properly. After the time & frustration of this install, *** simply wants to put this behind us and never use or recommend Willis Klein again. In addition, *** does not feel that we should be responsible for the 2 invoices totaling $2,958.93 since we have scratched up panes, improperly installed doors, and lack an astragal seal to install on the correct door.

Business Response: ******* ******* (with firm) states that this matter has been resolved.

Consumer Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID 9520170, and I agree the matter has been resolved. Thank you for your follow up.

Regards,

***** *****
