Additional NotesComplaint: I recently applied for a home mortgage with BB&T, which took several months to get it to underwriting. We were told from the start that she was confident our loan would go through, so we went ahead and put in an offer on a house - paid the home inspection, paid the appraisal, paid the termite inspection, and paid the hold. Throughout the process I was continuously asked to word things a "certain" way in order to "pull the wool over their eyes". I was told this twice at the end of the process, as well as my husband was asked to sign a form stating he did not own a home (which technically he did, it is in the foreclosure process). The mortgage lady told us see was confident we would get the approval but that we needed to hurry because someone was on vacation and she wanted to close before they came back. She told us that everything was ok because once we closed they couldn't take the loan away from us. We started this process in April, and finally last week the day we were supposed to get everything back final from underwriting we were told that we didn't qualify for the CHIP loan, and needed to change to the FHA....after months of work and after this loan going through the processor, then to underwriting and getting a preliminary approval just waiting on a form from KHC. This flat out lie and misleading lead us to continue a process we never qualified for on day one (we don't meet income guidelines or debt to income ratios for the CHIP program). We stopped the process last week, and confirmed with another BB&T loan officer that several mistakes and unethical behaviors had occurred on our loan process which is what leads us to our complaint. Desired Settlement: Because of the lies, misleading, and deceiving behaviors we continued until we realized this was way wrong!! We would simply like our out of pocket investment - $50 termite inspection fee, $350 appraisal, and $354 home inspection..totals $754. Business Response: Our goal at BB&T is to provide the perfect client experience with all clients. Our efforts are always centered around providing a clear picture throughout the loan application process. We apologize that you did not feel you received the client experience you were expecting. Additional NotesComplaint: I recently deposited a large check to cover several charges. The deposit posted to my acct. on the same day as the check that posted to my acct. yet I was charged a $35 overdraft fee. When I called to see if the fund could be refunded, they said their policy is that they only refund bank charges once every 24 months and I had one almost a year ago. I think it's ludicrous and that as a courtesy to costumers, this should be once every 12 months at minimum and take into account the status of the customer. I am not at all impressed with the customer service and have had much better experience at several other banks. I will not be recommending **** to anyone looking for a bank with good customer service. Desired Settlement: Refund overdraft charge Business Response: I have reviewed the complaint filed by this client. The client states that a deposit posted to her account on the same day as a check posted to the account, yet she was charged a $35 overdraft fee. She was informed that the charge could not be refunded since she had previously had a refund on the account. She stated that we should allow a refund once every 12 months at a minimum. We will allow a refund for any overdraft charge resulting from bank error at any time. In reviewing the transactions for that day, I found that the deposit consisted of a check instead of cash. If it is critical for the deposit to be available immediately, the deposit should be made in cash at a branch location. In this case, we would have given the client immediate credit for it and there would not have been an overdraft. However, for a check deposited into an account, we only provide a courtesy credit of $100 available until the next day. This is to allow the bank the time to exchange the check deposited for cash with the other institution. For additional details, I would refer the client to our Bank Services Agreement provided at account opening. I hope this information will allow the client to avoid future overdrafts on the account. BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved |

Additional NotesComplaint: i have been trying to get this matter resolved for awhile. i have sent the money order in as requsted. now they have kept the money order and havent heard back from them.i have all reciepts and they did recieve as they signed for it. Desired Settlement: would like my refund of these funds less the amt it states,and i was told .also you have money order. i do have copies of all transactions. you also requested a paper from me on why i wanted this and that was sent in also. this matter has went on a long time. please help me get resolved. MidAmerica Money Order Company, formerly a subsidiary of MidAmeria Bancorp, was sold in 1998 to MoneyGram Payment Systems, which I believe was subsequently mergered with Travelers Express Co., 6601 Shingle Creek Parkway, Minneapolis, MN 55430-1741. I suggest the request from Ms. ******** be referred to Travelers Express. ****** ** ***, SVP, BB&T Financial, FSB

Additional NotesComplaint: They allowed a vindicative set of branch employees: **** ***** ******** and ***** ** *******n to put an illegal block on my business account. This was totaly without merit as I have given permission to allow my son to withdraw funds from the account and they know him as he has 2 busines accounts himself with BB&T along with a personal account. These people have been harrassing and rude and are a black eye to BB&T. Desired Settlement: I want all employees of this branch to be blocked from touching any of our accounts. Business Response: I have reviewed the complaint information submitted by Mr ***** ****. In the statement, Mr. **** states we have allowed a vindicative set of branch employees to put an illegal block on his business account. He states this is without merit as he has given permission to allow his son to withdraw funds from the account and we know his son due his accounts with us. He states our employees have been harrassing and rude and requests all employees of this particular branch to be blocked from touching any of their account. I have contacted the employees involved and reviewed the information provided in this complaint and the statements made are inaccurate. One of the employees listed in the complaint is not even a branch employee. The hold on the account has nothing to do with the situation he describes related to his son withdrawing funds from the account. By now, Mr. **** should have received a closeout letter on his account. This is the reason a hold was placed on the account. We had previously made the decision to close the account in question. Our Bank Services Agreement states in the section "Right to close account". The Bank may close any account with or withour cause at any time. The Bank shall give the Depositor either oral or written notice of its intention to close the account. Closing the acount does not release the Depositor from the payment of accrued fees or liability for items in process. I hope this eliminates the confusion related to the hold described in Mr. ****'s complaint. The employess had previously attempted to close our accounts and not thanks to false information they have succeeded. I have taken my concerns about this branch to the attorney general and the comptroller of the currency. In addition their disregard for customer service has caused me a financial difficulty that I believe I have civil recourse thru the court system for. I love the way that they go to a document that has no legal standing as a defense. Please let me know when a BB&T rep will send a truthful and honest response to the outragous behavior of their employees at this brance. The names I gave on the complaint were the ones given to me by their call center as the employees involved with the block and closing, thus somewhere someone has given me false information or reply. Was it the customer service people or the person who responded with this unbelievable response? Regards, ***** ****
