On Aug. 26, 2021, I purchased a 2012 Kia Sorento from *******************************. I put ******** down on the car and financed the additional $***** with Beverly Financial Corp. Four days later I left for ********* to take care of my father who had COVID 19. I got to ******* the check engine light come on along with the oil light I checked the fluids and there was no oil in the car. When I left ********** a few hours prior the fluids were full including the oil. I put 4 quarts of oil in it and by the time I got to *****, it was empty again. I took it to a mechanic who informed me that I've been sold a car with a blown engine. I called the dealer and informed him of what it happened And of course, he told me he didn't know anything was wrong with the car. I told him I was not making a payment on the car until we either renegotiated the price of it or until he put a new engine in it. His response was that he would pay for an engine but I had to pay for the installation of the engine. I told him that was not my responsibility and he quit responding to my emails at that point. There are laws in place to keep auto dealers from selling people bad cars with major mechanical issues, it falls under AUTO FRAUD. I informed the finance company of what was going on and the finance company tried to pressure me to make the first payment but I had been advised against doing so until a resolution was made as to what was going to happen- were ** going to renegotiate the price of the car or was he going to pay to have an engine put in it. During the time I was negotiating with the dealer, Beverly Financial came and took the car, repossessed it when it wasn't even 30 days late yet, I had been in contact with them about the issue, and resolve had not been made between me and the Dealer. I am out of the $******* I put down on the car, a repossession on my TRW, and had to put more money down on a new car which I had to pay an absurd interest rate on because of the repossession
