    I was ordered by court to install an IID (Ignition Interlock Device) and provided/referenced a list of companies I could use to get this accomplished. This list is actually created by California DMV and distributed within paperwork packets from the court. I chose a company called Best LABS / Golden State Interlock, Inc. I called the phone # on the list ************** and was routed to an agent named ***** *** who sold me on using them to get my IID installed. He requested a one-time payment of $**** sent via Venmo. He asked me to sign a contract with some verbiage I quickly looked over and the contract also included the receipt and summary of what I was paying for. I signed via docusign and returned the contract to him. He proceeded to ask for payment and I sent the $**** payment via Venmo. He then stated he would be in contact with me to setup the install. A few days passed and I never received a follow-up so I called them back. I also texted ***** *** who stated he had his father on his death bed and had to leave the company. He gave me two contacts: ************* (Director) and *** ***** (Owner) to reach out to. I attempted them a few times with no response. I called the ************** # every from from December 20 - today. I always got a representative to answer and they would try to reach "someone" to no avail. They stated they would take my message and have them call me back as soon as they became available. Every message for almost 20+ days went unanswered. I chose a different IID company on 1/10 and got my IID installed on 1/11. I still try to make contact to get a refund of my money, but no responses. The Venmo account I sent to changed just recently to a more personal account for *** which I assume is *************. I have attached the contract, some conversations thru text, and the Venmo profile change.

    I am in the process of reporting them to BAR and having them investigated. They sold a unit to my daughter in April of 2021 and come to find out the unit that was installed was broken and non-serviceable. She went for 3 weeks before the company would respond and sent out another defective unit that shorted out her electrical system. We are now speaking with Best Labs trying to get this resolved. I would recommend staying away from this company. Their advertising is false and one of their selling features is 24X7 customer service. This is false as they have an answering service that passes ******** to someone that may or may not call you back. Shame on you Golden State. ****-San Diego
