Complaint
We have used Handyman Connection several times over the last 8 years and been very satisfied with their service and the quality of the work.
We needed some minor plumbing work done, and we scheduled an appointment for Wed. July 9 by phone. They followed up with 2 confirmation emails. The work order included a toilet repair and a faucet repair on a sink. When ******, the handyman arrived, my husband physically showed him what and where needed service. When he finished, I was on the phone, and asked him if the work upstairs was completed, and he said it was. I admit that I did not check before I paid him, and discovered that the faucet issue had not been repaired about an hour later. I immediately call HC and spoke with ******* She confirmed that the faucet was part of the service order but was unable to reach the "scheduler" to re-set an appointment. She left a message for the scheduler, but told me to call back if I did not receive a call. I did not, therefore, I called HC again later in the afternoon, and spoke with *****. ***** also said the scheduler was not at her desk, but would leave a message to contact me about an appointment. No one called. I called HC on Thursday morning, spoke with ***** again. Told him I was very unhappy and needed to get this appointment set because we were leaving town for the weekend. He said the scheduler was still not available. I gave him my cell phone # in addition to my home number. He said he emailed the owner of the business. It is now July 16. I have not received a call or communication from anyone at HC. I'm not calling again. It just makes me angry to be ignored.

Desired Settlement
Frankly, at this point I don't care if they fix the faucet or not. I just want other consumers to know that there is a big problem at HC. It appears their customer service paradigm has changed to a call center, rather than having someone in the office and it is most unsatisfactory from a consumer standpoint. Thank you for your assistance in this matter.

Business Response
It appears the issue at hand was our delay in providing a solution to the customer. Our office was unaware of this warranty issue until receipt of this BBB complaint. We now use a call center to handle the bulk of our incoming calls as there are too many to effectively manage locally. We were regretfully unaware of the customers warranty request due to a communication breakdown between our call center and our office. The call center is a great resource for our business but this new process does come with a learning curve. We are actively working to develop a solution which balances the needs of our customers with those of our office. We apologize that our customer felt ignored as we take this seriously. We value our customers and all customer feedback which we know will help us grow. As of this response, the warranty has been either scheduled or repaired.

Complaint
Individual that was sent wanted to argue and continue to raise pricing after a amount was given for the installation. Installed door leaks
Delay in work project. Installed door leaks when it rains and installer blamed home siding for the leaks. Was given price to install door and after delays said the price would go up over 200 dollars if any problems were encountered. We were given a price in writing for installation and at the time of the pricing nothing was stated concerning any problems encountered or a change in pricing. The installer wanted to argue and delay the job and was very unprofessional.

Desired Settlement
I am going to call in another company to repair the work already done and whatever the cost I would like to be reimbursed. We already paid out 620.00 dollars
