Become an Arbitrator

Arbitration
The goal of arbitration is to resolve business/consumer disputes quickly and economically as an alternative to the court system. Accordingly, arbitrating is a professional activity requiring excellent written, verbal, listening, fact-finding and logical reasoning skills. Attorneys or individuals with prior arbitration experience in another forum are eligible to serve as BBB arbitrators upon completion of BBB training.

Arbitrator Training Information
BBB dispute resolution training programs are developed and conducted by staff trainers who have extensive experience in dispute resolution and are active in the field. If you meet the requirements and you would like to become an arbitrator, please fill out our on-line application.

Mediation
If you are a trained mediator and would like to volunteer for your BBB, please contact them directly to determine whether they offer mediation services, and to get more information about any specific training requirements.  You may look up your BBB by clicking on this link: your BBB. The Council of Better Business Bureaus does not maintain a national roster of mediators and does not have mediation cases for volunteer mediators.
