Complaint
We arrived at our cabin ******** and after draining the bathtub, our cabin was filled with a sewage smell that was horrible. We called to have maintenance come out to find out what was wrong. He couldn't find a problem, so he said there was nothing he could do. We called the office to complain and asked to move cabin and were told that we would have to pay a price difference of *** plus a cleaning fee if we wanted to move. Unwilling to pay more for another cabin , I asked to speak with management, but she was out of the office for the week. We later recieved a phone call at 8 pm that night that we could switch cabins, but after traveling all day, we were already in bed and had bought candles and air fresheners to help. The next day, we returned to the cabin to find. Note that read a pipe had burst in the wall and they would address it after we left. We would like a partial refund or credit toward another stay.

The guest explains the situation that occurred very accurately, there was an issue with the cabin, we could not fix it that evening and offered to move the guest at no additional charge to another property. The guest chose not to move the evening of the occurrence but would rather wait until the morning to talk with a manager. A manager called them that evening, the guest said she was done dealing with our manager and that since the smell was bearable they would purchase candles to cover the smell. We left a note the next day stating that the pipe would be repaired after they departed the cabin, we were under the impression that they still might accept our offer of moving to another property once they realized the extent of the problem. This was not a quick and easy fix. It is unfortunate that this occurred, from time to time as with any home we experience problems that just cannot be fixed on the spot. Although it may have taken a few calls, I feel that we offered accommodations that were equivalent at no extra charge that the guest did not accept. I have no problem working with this guest to offer them a discount on a future stay with our company. The guest needs to contact our office and we can discuss the appropriate compensation towards a future stay.
