Did not file my claim properly, trying to bill me for the total charge, then over-charging me after the insurance paid.
Initially, I set the appointment, in July, giving Brittany my insurance information; when I arrived for my appointment, I asked her if everything was ok, and she said yes, everything should be covered; I have the cleaning done, xrays, all of which took about 45 minutes; I then waited for the dentist to come in to see me; she came in after about 10 minutes of waiting; her patient-side manner was not good, but recommended some things which needed to be done to my teeth. I told them both thank you, and I needed to go back to work. At the counter, I asked if I needed anything else, and she said no, I should be fine.
I never heard anything again until I receive a letter in the mail toward the end of September, explaining my account is about to be turned over to collection for non-payment of a $ dental bill. I NEVER received any calls to let me know my insurance hadn't paid; I called immediately (which was feat in itself as I left 5 messages on the office voice mail) and asked them why my insurance didn't pay; I gave them my insurance information again, and on October 14th, my insurance paid the amount necessary, except for $62.80. When I contacted about the balance, she explained my clean was more difficult, which explained the additional charge. I was never told my cleaning would be an additional charge, however, the hygienist did say I should have a cleaning done more often, as I had additional plaque build-up; once again, I was never told of an additional charge, and when I asked Brittany about this, her reply is "well there are lots of notes on here saying they told you about heavier plaque build-up on your teeth"; she said I should "know" there would be an additional charge. If I had been told, I would've probably went ahead and ok'd it, but to just do it, and then tell me I HAVE to pay it, not going to happen!
In addition, I asked the office Mgr to call me back with an explanation, and Brittany told me that's probably not going to happen. She said he will send you a letter explaining the charges, and he won't waive the charges. I explained again I wanted a call, and she says it probably won't happen. Once again, it's not the amount - it's the principle of the practice.

Desired Settlement
I want a zero balance and a letter of apology for this issue. When I receive notification of this, I will go away....If not, I promise, every social media outlet will hear about their billing practices, and I will NOT resolve my claim at your venue.
