Unsolicited advertising e-mails with no ability to unsubscribe and refusal to do so in spite of specific request
Please see e-mail below that I just sent to the above business:

Dear Mr. ******** - Can you please take me off your e-mail and mailing lists?

I purchased a Nutrilawn package many years ago (if I recall correctly it was at least 7-8 years ago) when we lived in Waterloo, Ontario. l was not overly impressed by the service at the time, and did not purchase any further services.

I have tried unsuccessfully several times over the last few years to unsubscribe from your mailing list. I even once called the Nutrilawn office in Kitchener and explicitly requested to be unsubscribed. I was reassured that this would be done but it never was.

In this day and age of electronic commerce and electronic communications, it is a reprehensible pratice that you do not have an unsubscribe link or feature in your blanket e-mails. Your company would be best served if you unsubscribed me immediately, and include this feature for all future e-mail campaigns for other possible customers that do not wish to be communicated with in this manner. Not doing so essentially amounts to harassment, there are precedents for this if you care to look into this matter.

My apologies for any inconvenience. I do see that we sent you an email March 31, 2014 regarding our 2014 offers. The phone number and email had already been removed before this letter as we must have received contact to remove the email address. As it stands right now, we do not have any contact information for this person

Unfortunately, an unsatisfactory response which only corroborates the poor business practices that were raised. Firstly, no acknowledgment that they are sending unsolicited (spam) e-mails with no option to opt out (unheard of in the ecommerce space). Secondly, no action in spite of more than one request to be unsubscribed including a phone call to their office (and reassurance that the matter would be addressed). Thirdly, some nonsense about not having any contact details - what then is an e-mail address?
