My fiance and I are completing full kitchen reno in our home. We had just had kitchen cabinets painted white, brand new granite sink and countertops installed and had chosen Custom Stone and Tile ****** ******) from a list of recommended installers from our local Tile Shop for our tile backsplash. ***** boasted about his 30 years of experience and exploits in the local newspaper. Before he started on day 1 we agreed to starting points on design to prevent small slivers around window, thickness for CONSISTENT grout lines, use of protective devices around my new counters/sink/faucet/walls/cabinets, he would ensure tiles were level along backboard, and all work would be cleaned up in same condition as it was found. Day 2 ***** had a helper who cleaned up inside and outside porch but all other working days very little effort was placed on end-of-day cleanup. We have tiles protruding/unlevel from back wall, tiles without grout, inconsistent grout lines, unlevel/scratched tile trim, and lop-sided tiles. In addition to poor install detail, grout was smeared all over our newly painted walls and cabinets (paint pics), all over our newly installed granite countertop (counter pics) and kitchen window (window pics), and was found in dried chunks all inside our new granite sink (sink pics). Back porch where he cut is filthy (porch pics). My breakfast bar counter had protective covering from the recent kitchen painters so it was protected throughout. Once ******* work was complete I removed this covering and you can clearly see the difference in what his lack of protection has done to our countertops. I have tried to clean with normal cleansers but appear stained. We have tried contacting ***** with pictures of what he left behind but he claims counters were unlevel (pics validate otherwise). He also claims he covered everything which is obvious did not occur or residue wouldn't be smeared across our entire kitchen and through to our back porch. He refuses to attempt resolution.
