On 12/22/2022 at approximately 3:30PM, I came to CT State Police Troop D in ********* to complete a report of identity theft. I became aware my identity was stolen today when I received a phone call from Northtown Mitsubishi in Kansas City, MO reporting they sold two vehicles and were in the process of selling a third to a person using my personally identifying information. The first two vehicles, one of which as a **** ******* Santa Fe, were sold about a month ago. They said the person has my information and a CT driver's license and provided an address of *** **** ***** ****** ** ********** ** *****. The license provided had a first name which was abbreviated which was the first indication the documentation was false as your FULL name IS required for a CT State driver’s license. 1 spoke to the General Manager of the dealership, ***** ******** whose # was *************. He stated the photo on the license was a black male and they never saw him in-person. They are supposedly mailing me a copy of the driver's license that was used. When asked for surveillance or video it was declined. There was no vetting process to verify identification upon vehicle transfer in BOTH instances. Both purchases were made online. The vehicles were financed through ******* ***** and ***** ****. I did not buy these vehicles; my identity has been stolen. notified the credit bureaus and froze my identity. ***** ******* has entered me into a national database which will identify anyone using my information law enforcement reasons. I gave ******* ******* a password which I will never forget. I understand could come up during a traffic stop or at the airport and I will need to provide this password to law enforcement to confirm it is me, not the imposter.
