On 10-06-22 we got a multipoint inspection, oil change, and tires rotated. Knoepfler recommended getting the 2017 Equinoxs levels topped off or what we have been calling it winterized sometime in the near future. They also wanted to purchase it from us because it is/was such a great vehicle. They quoted us $10,500 for it but we werent interested in selling to them. On 11-09-22 we took it in to get their recommended services and it cost $608.01. They did brake system service, coolant system service, fuel induction clean, and engine (replace spark plugs). Ever since then we have not quit having problems with it. On 11-25-22 it died for the first time but started back up. On 12-2-22 it died again and the check engine light came on. We got it into Knoepfler right away. They said it was something to do with the camshaft. We had them fix whatever they said was needed and that cost $343.48. ****** (service advisor) said it fixed the problem and it wouldnt happen again. Then on 12-20-22 we had to take it back into Knoepfler because it died again. They looked at it and ****** said they couldnt find anything wrong with it because there was no light on. He said it was all good to go. Finally, on 01-08-23 the vehicles check engine light came on while driving on the highway and only gave a few minutes warning before dying on an off ramp. This time the engine wouldnt turn over and my teenage daughter was stranded. We had it towed to Knoepfler even though we want to take it somewhere else since we know it is their fault this all happened. But we were hoping they would make this right. My daughter saved her entire life for this car and it was an amazing vehicle until they did their recommended service that cost her even more. Now they are saying we need a whole new motor which is $9,500. This is NOT acceptable!! They need to stand by their work and fix this correctly without a 16 year old girl having to pay for their mistakes!
