BBB Serving Central Indiana Reaches Out to Latino Community

Indianapolis, Ind. – BBB® serving Central Indiana is increasing its efforts to better connect and interact with the Latino business community in central Indiana. BBB strives to use this outreach as an opportunity to support Latino-owned businesses as well as better serve the community as a source of unbiased information to assist the Hispanic-American consumer in making good purchasing decisions.

To continue to grow the relationship with the Latino community, BBB recently welcomed Agustin ("Gus") Rojas as a new member to the board of directors. BBB also plans to attend and support several professional Latino events throughout the coming years.

"Indianapolis has been my home now for 30 years, and I love it here," said Rojas, who was born in Mexico City. He works in the food and beverage industry. In 2009, along with his wife, Maryann, and other business partners, Dennis Stephenson, Rich Kidwell and Tom Kidwell, Rojas started Five Star Catering. He is the owner/operator of The Palms by Five Star Catering in Plainfield, which provides full-service catering and event management services.

In addition to serving on BBB’s board of directors, Rojas is a member of the Indy Chamber, Plainfield Chamber of Commerce and the Hispanic Business Council. He also serves on the advisory board for The Chef’s Academy. He enjoys spending time with his wife, Maryann, and five children, Tony, Andi, Ali, Danny and Mia. Having Rojas on the board of directors opens up more opportunities for BBB to meet and work with other Latino business owners and consumers in the community.

"BBB is very excited to reach out to the Latino community," said Tim Maniscalo, president and CEO of BBB serving Central Indiana. "Our new board member, Gus Rojas, continues to assist us in our efforts to connect with both Latino business owners and consumers. And we are thrilled to be a vendor at the Indiana Latino Expo on May 3.”

BBB is eager to speak with Expo attendees and share with them about BBB services and benefits available to the central Indiana community.

Furthermore, BBB is a sponsor of the Indy Chamber’s Conexión series, their Hispanic Business Council’s networking series in which educational topics are discussed. BBB was also a sponsor of the Indiana Latino Expo 2014 Business Forum with Special Guest Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann. This was an important networking event for Latino business owners.

"We look forward to continuing to reach out to the Latino communities throughout central Indiana and develop a long-lasting relationship."
