According to BBB records, this company solicits consumers through door-to-door sales presentations. Consumers are often told that proceeds from magazine subscriptions will benefit inner city youth. Complaints allege the company collects an upfront payment for magazine subscriptions, but fails to fulfill orders within the 90-120 time period stipulated on the sales receipt. Consumer attempts to contact the company are often unsuccessful. Most complaints allege the company does not return phone calls or address consumer requests for refunds. The BBB has determined the business address listed on the sales receipt is not the company's physical location, but rather a mail drop box. The company has not responded to the majority of BBB complaints.
In October 2013, the BBB received a complaint alleging Strictly Business 1 approached a consumer asking them to purchase magazines for nonprofits in the area which included Hope Ministries in Des Moines IA. Hope Ministries was contacted by the BBB for clarification. They reported they are not affiliated with Strictly Business 1.
