Located in the Texas Medical Center, Baylor College of Medicine has
affiliations with eight teaching hospitals, each known for medical
excellence. In 2014, it partnered with Catholic Health Initiatives to
co-own Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center. The college has 25 departments
and more than 90 research and patient-care centers. It trains more than
3,000 medical, graduate and allied health sciences students, as well as
residents and post-doctoral fellows, and is ranked as one of the top
medical schools in the nation for research and primary care in U.S. News
& World Report’s Best Graduate Schools 2015. It has total research
support of $363 million, with $280 million from federal sources, and
ranks first in Texas in funding from the National Institutes of Health.
