Complaint: On ******* ** **** I contacted Carter Country and spoke with ****. I asked if he had a 1871 30-30 cal, Rolling Block Hunder Carbine in stock. He said he would check and get back to me. He called me back and told me he did not have the rifle in stock but could get it from the manufacture in "A Week". When I called back in a week, **** advised me he had not received the rifle. I asked **** when he though the rifle would ship to which he did not have an answer. Today, *** *** **** I contacted **** to find out the status of my order. **** stated the rifle had been shipped on the 21st.of *******. When I asked for a tracking number he stated he did not have one. I asked him to get one and to call me back. An hour later I called and asked for ****. I was told he left to go home. I then asked to speak to a **********. ***** came on the line to tell me **** had gone home and I would have to call back tomorrow. I told ***** I only wanted to get a tracking number on the rifle I ordered and he said, "**** took the computer home with him". At this point I let out an astounding, "What!". I told ***** (the **********) I felt mistreated and began to tell him why.....he then hung up on me. My point is this. I was led by **** to believe he could have this order to me in a week. My credit card was billed for $811.00 Carter Country/**** got there money and here I sit waiting on a rifle to arrive not knowing when it will arrive. I feel Carter Country took advantage of me just to make a sale.
Desired Settlement: I feel Carter Country should be made to give clients tracking information on orders made over the phone (credit card transactions) not deducted from the client until the order has been recieved by the store. Carter Country gets there money and then makes the client wait for no telling how long until the product arrives.
Better Business Bureau:
This letter is to inform you that Carter's Country Outdoor Stores has carried out to my satisfaction the resolution it proposed for my complaint, filed on ********* 4:33:42 PM and assigned ID *******.
BBB's Final Determination: Consumer accepted resolution offered by the business.
