Complaint: I purchased a Groupon on 3/17 from MBM Carpet Cleaning, the appointment was scheduled for 3/28/2014 between 11AM and 2PM, I took the day off, the technicians did not show up until 4:20PM and proceeded to set up. They went through whole house and sprayed a chemical stain lifter and all carpets were wet. We have (4) small dogs. They were only able to complete/extract chemical in 1 bedroom and their equipment broke again. They assured me that they would return on 3/29 between 8 and 10AM to complete the job. They called me at 8:30AM on 3/29 and stated that they were unable to come as they were already booked in the Galveston Area (6) jobs and would not be able to return. I explained that they neede to complete this job PRIOR to going over to the Galveston area and starting jobs there. VERY UNPROFESSIONAL and I am out $85.00 - DO NOT SUPPORT THIS COMPANY. I am stuck with a mess and dirty carpets - now I have to find another company, take off work again to get a simple carpet cleaning done. They (technician states) that they have servral trucks. They management stated that I need to request a refund from Groupon which I have, however it will take several days to process.

Desired Settlement: Please let the company know that I have filed a complaint with the BBB - ****** **** - their website. VERY POORLY MANAGED!

Business Response: We have not received any funds from Mrs. ****** and she has not been charged for any services by us. We make every effort to fulfill our obligations. We actually made 2 attempts on the original date to clean her carpets and as mrs. ****** stated and is fully aware, the belt in our carpet machine broke and repairman was not available after 5 pm or on weekends to fix. It was a situation we clearly did not anticipate and was out of our control.

Business Response: We have not received any funds from Mrs. ****** and she has not been charged for any services by us. We make every effort to fulfill our obligations. We actually made 2 attempts on the original date to clean her carpets and as mrs. ****** stated and is fully aware, the belt in our carpet machine broke and repairman was not available after 5 pm or on weekends to fix. BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved

Complaint: I was not in the least satisfied by the services rendered by MBM Cleaning Inc. In fact, it was a colossal loss to me considering the amount paid and the eventual damage to my carpet upon cleaning. In ******* this year (****)I called for the services of MBM Cleaning Inc. to clean my carpet as well as the air duct system. The gentleman spoke highly about how gorgeous my carpet looked. My wife was particularly concerned about the high traffic area on the carpet. The MBM Tech said with "certain chemical the Tephlone on the carpet will be restored to its factory look. It cost extra $50.00" We had to move in with a family the night the job was done because the pungent smell from the chemical MBM used would not allow us stay in the house. The next day we thought it was safe to sleep in the house. By 11:45pm I was awoke from sleep by terrible cough and a splitting headache. I was concerned for the health of my two months old baby who also started coughing. We moved out of the house to clear our lungs. I called MBM in the morning and explained the situation. I was told the chemical was not dangerous to health.MBM sent two guys who said we had to ventilate the house for 6hours. And pointing to my ruined carpet, the tech said since he was not the original cleaner, there was no way he could compare what my carpet used to look like. I suffer the loss!

Desired Settlement: Restore my carpet.

Business Response:

We did go back to address her issues on the **** and found none and they signed at that time stating they were satisfied.   Also they only paid for the basic service with no warranty and we did follow up with their concerns upon notification.  Our technician found nothing substandard with our services performed.  Our technician said there were no strong odors or smells when he came.  Attached you will find the original invoice along with the follow up invoice in which the customer signed confirming satisfaction and that we were there to check out their concerns.

BBB's Final Determination: Business offered a resolution. Consumer did not pursue further with BBB and the matter was assumed to be resolved

BBB Comments: Company resolved the complaint issues. The consumer failed to acknowledge acceptance to the BBB.
