    Beginning July 2021, The BBB began receiving complaints/reviews for Honda Cars of Katy that exhibited the same patter of complaint:

    Consumer complaints and reviews alleged when they purchased their vehicle they also purchased an oil change package.  These packages ranged anywhere from 60 month period to the lifetime of the vehicle. When consumers took their cars in to receive their free oil change, the service manager is refusing to honor the agreement. Consumers stated they were told when the dealership’s owner changed, they can no longer afford to honor the previous agreements and consumers are out their money and oil changes.

    The company has not responded to any of the consumer’s complaints or reviews regarding this issue.

    Recent reviews alleged company is having consumers sign on an I-Pad so they are seeing the items being added on without their knowledge.   They are also alleging if the consumer refuses to purchase the extended warranties, they are not able to purchase the vehicle.

    After Honda Cars of Katy performed scheduled maintenance on August 22, 2022, which included automatic transmission fluid replacement, on my 2016 ***** ***. On Friday, September 23, 2022, I started a trip with this car to San Diego, CA. After driving about 475 miles, a warning appeared on my dashboard indicating my automatic transmission fluid was hot. I stopped the vehicle and allowed the fluid to cool. I then drove approximately another 40 miles and the warning indicator reappeared. At this time I again parked the car and called Honda Cars of Katy who advised that they used the correct replacement fluid and suggested I call an ***** ******. I called the closest ***** ******, *** ***** ** ** ***** **, who advised me to let the transmission fluid cool again and then drive at a reduced rate of speed to their location in El Paso. I arrived at *** *****'s facility on Saturday morning, September 24th. *** ***** advised that the automatic transmission fluid was overfull which caused the overheating. They performed the necessary repairs and charged me $722.86. I completed the trip to San Diego and returned to Katy, TX without further issues. Upon my return to Texas and on October 8, 2022 I contacted a service manager at Honda Cars of Katy and informed him of the problems I encountered. He requested, and I supplied, a copy of the invoice from *** *****. After 5 days, October 13th, I followed-up with an email to this service manager to check to see if they would make me whole in the amount of $722.86 for the *** ***** repair expense. I did not receive a reply. During the following week, the week of October 17th, I again reached to the service manager via SMS text and voicemail to check the status of my claim. I received no response. I tried contacting him again by telephone and left another voicemail on Monday, October 24th. Again, no response.

    After you buy a car there, the salesman (Simon) calls and tries to harass you into buying another one, in spite of being told to quit calling. Don't buy a car there unless you want someone harassing you at work.
