October 17, 2015 - October 17, 2015   9:00 AM - 12:00 PM

BBB Secure Your ID Day is a public education and community service event aimed at preventing identity theft. On Saturday, October, 2015 - Hawaii's Better Business Bureau will host BBB Secure Your ID Day, including events on Oahu, Maui and the Big Island. Everyone is invited to take advantage of free on-site document, CD and floppy disk destruction, cell phone recycling, and practical tips to avoid identity theft.

Access Information Management will accept up to two boxes of paper, CDs and floppy disks that contain information you don’t want in the hands of identity thieves. Paper documents should be removed from binders, but staples and paper clips can be shredded.

This year, BBB Secure Your ID Day includes e-waste recycling curtosey of Sims Recycling Solutions. They will be on hand at our Oahu locations to accept old laptops, CPU's, and servers for secure hard drive destruction.  Cell phones will also be accepted and wiped, but consumers are encouraged to remove their own data. Ewaste is not being destroyed on site.

Hawaii’s BBB staf and First Hawaiian Bank volunteers will be on-site to provide advice and tips for identity theft protection.

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Honolulu and Maui will also be on hand accepting donations of clothing at the Maui and Oahu locations.
