Complaint: $500 deposit was to be refunded upon leaving condo clean, as it was when I rented it. I cleaned unit but $85 was withheld for window cleaning. I rented a condo through this company from May 25th through June 30th. I agreed to leave condo in same condition when I left as it was in when I rented it in order to be refunded my $500 deposit whith 2 weeks of leaving. Only $415 was refunded 1 month after leaving. $85 was withheld for window cleaning. I tried disputing this with the company on August 1 and again on August 7, with no response. These windows are outside the condo, not all even assessable due to broken latches on the inside. I believe window cleaning is normal maintenance that is the owner's responsibility, not that of a vacation renter.
Desired Settlement: I would like to have the $85 that was withheld from my deposit refunded to me.
Business Response: Customer service and satisfaction is of upmost importance to us and we strive to treat every customer fairly and respectfully. All of our rentals are professionally cleaned between each guest, which includes interior windows and sliding glass doors. The rental agreement states that on departure, in order to receive the security deposit refund, the unit is to be left in the same condition as when you arrived. Upon your departure, we performed a walk-through with you in attendance. At that time, it was stated by us that the unit, with the exception of the interior windows and sliding glass door, was in an acceptably clean condition. We refunded your deposit amount, minus the $85.00 cleaning fee the cleaning company charged us to clean the interior windows and sliding glass door. There was no mention from this company that the windows were difficult to access. We sincerely regret the later than usual return of your deposit and any inconvenience it may have caused. We are always striving to improve our services and are happy that we were able to reach an agreement with you to refund half of the $85 cleaning fee owed.
