Stated Purpose

Mission Statement: Hawaii Meals on Wheels is dedicated to helping Oahu's elders and individuals with disabilities preserve their independence at home. We do this primarily by providing hot, nutritious meals and regular personal interaction with those we serve.

Stated Purpose: "To promote the health and well-being of those persons whose ability to perform normal daily tasks is restricted to such a degree that independent living is threatened. The corporation is committed to the philosophy of providing nutritional services to the elderly and disabled which will delay or prevent the need for unnecessary or inappropriate institutionalization, both short term and long term."
