Stated Purpose

MISSION: Habilitat offers treatment and habilitation of persons with character disorders often complicated through abuse of drugs, alcohol and/or anti-social behavior. "Habilitat remains strong and dedicated to its mission of saving lives by rebuilding lives."

The seal, which can be displayed on the charity's web site and in printed materials, helps inform the public that the charity meets these standards. This organization participates in this program.


Habilitat provides long-term substance abuse treatment to people who were dependent on drugs and/or alcohol and led antisocial, self-destructive lifestyles. The organization has three principal programs: Treatment; Education; and, Vocational Training. The Residential Treatment program employs the "therapeutic community" mode of drug treatment in a long-term residential facility, with the average length of stay for clients being 24 months.

The Education program provides on-site GED and Basic Skills education that helps Habilitat's students earn their General Equivalency Diploma.

The Vocational Training program offers training designed to qualify Habilitat residents for future careers is areas such as Administration & Computer, Accounting, Clinical Care, Marketing, Food Services, Induction and Contract Services.
