Originally I purchased a 2017 ***** Civic from choice automotive located at *************************************************** ****** contact number ************ in December 2023. After a few months, I wanted to pay off the vehicle. I gave them a $5000 down payment and they told me I did not qualify for financing so they gave me in-house dealer financing with a payment just over $700 per month. When I decided to pay it off, they told me I needed to go to standard financial and speak with ***** and ****. They could not provide me a phone number for standard financial but their address is *******************************************************. I went there in person and wrote a check for $17,000. ***** told me the title they did not have it, but they would get it to me in three months. She said I could call and see if it would be there sooner. Upon calling a few weeks later, after my check had cleared, I requested a bill of sale and for my title. I was told I could pick it up that week. as the day approached to pick up the title they sent me a text message saying they mailed the title, and if it was lost, I could go to DMV and request a new one.I do not have a bill of sale, so I cannot do this. It is not legal for a dealership to sell a car if they do not have the title. They have not responded as to when I can get my bill of sale and they will not go to obtain the title.
