Cascade Factory Homes at first seemed like it was going to be a great experience. The woman we dealt with seemed genuine and was lovely to work with. It took a few weeks for us to get all the permits and the ok from the county for us to put the home where we wanted to. We finally got the ok and then reached out to Cascade Factory Homes in order to put half down on the home and place the order. Luckily, we waited until later that night to sign any contracts. We were told at first that the home (which was a fleetwood) had a price lock once the order was placed. But literally a minute before we signed the contract we received and email stating that fleetwood was no longer doing price locks and that the price of the home would most likely climb until the delivery of the home. We took out a loan based off of the price of the home, and the land development in which we are going to do ourselves. Therefore, we are unable to take out anymore to pay for the house. I am so glad we did not go through this business and did not put a deposit down on the home because reading these other reviews we would not have been able to get our deposit back. The fact that we got this email at 8pm stating that she just got word that the manufacturer was no longer doing a price lock kind of made me think that she was waiting until we signed the paperwork to send the email about the manufacturer after the fact so that we were stuck with making a purchase with them. And if we didn't want to stick with them we would have been out $65,000. Sorry but customer lost on that one. Honesty and transparency is going to be this company's best friend in the future.

With factory order backlogs out over a year and material prices spiraling up out of control it has become impossible for factories predict what the cost of a home will actually be when built. We deal with five factories and all have had to abandon locking in prices. Fleetwood was the last to surrender to the current material price pressures and end price guarantees. Factories now reprice client orders just prior to placing the home online to be built. Our clients have the option of accepting the updated pricing or receiving a full refund. This is spelled out in our contract and was explained to this client. If she looks on the contract she can read this under "Special Conditions" # 2. Unfortunately this does create huge problems for our clients that are trying to finance their purchase. We understand her anger and we dislike the current environment as well. We hope the world soon goes back to normal.
