The Donna Easter Student Ethics Award, powered by Market America | will be awarding four, one year Awards. These awards recognizes high school students in our area who personify high ethical standards demonstrated through leadership, community service, personal integrity and academic history.

The award is open to any high school senior attending high school in our service area who plans to continue his/her education in our service area. Students may plan to attend any accredited College, University, Community College or Trade School with either a 2 year or 4 year degree program, in a field of the student's choice. 

Our service area includes Alamance, Caswell, Guilford, Randolph & Rockingham Counties as well as the City of Thomasville.

Entry forms are now available online or in a printable version. Students will need to complete and submit the following:

    • Entry Form: If you choose to apply online please try to be prepared to submit everything online. You may upload your submission as separate attachments or type your entry in the spaces provided and then attach the rest of your submission. 
    • Essay: A no more than 500 word essay, describing an ethical predicament you have faced explaining how you handled the situation.

Students may submit a resume to demonstrate leadership and community service. 

    • Leadership: Describe any extracurricular work or school related activities, including awards/honors or offices held. 
    • Community Service: Describe activities outside of school and within your community, such as church or special community activities.  Include awards/honors or offices held.
    • Academic: Enclose a copy of your most recent transcript; describe post-secondary education plans; describe awards received relating to academic achievement.

If you choose to submit your entry in person, or by mail please download the printable version of the entry form. Compile your submission in a 3 ring binder using tabs for each category. Your signed entry form should be placed first. Then your essay, your example of leadership and community service, and lastly a copy of your transcripts

The deadline for submitting the entry is Friday, March 31, 2017

  • Submissions will not be returned.
  • All entries become the property of Better Business Bureau Serving Central NC. 
  • BBB retains the right to make program rule changes at any time.
  • Judging will be conducted by an independent panel of judges.
  • All judging decisions are final.
  • Recipients’ name and essay quotes may be released to the public and news media for promotional purposes, however BBB will be considerate of sensitive material.
  • Immediate family members of a BBB board member and BBB employees are not eligible for the scholarship award.
  • Family members of BBB Accredited Business owners are eligible.
  • Funds will be distributed directly to the school upon verification of the student's enrollment.
