I own a 2018 **** Superduty pickup truck that was purchased new in 2018. I also purchased an ARE custom truck shell that was ordered online and then shipped for installation to Campways in **********, **. I live 2 hours away from **************. Once the shell was shipped from the manufacturer I was contacted by Campways to come to ************** for installation. This turned into quite a number of trips to ************** owing to issues of incorrect parts supplied by the manufacturer, incorrect wiring of the electronic elements of the shell (keyless locks, lighting, etc.) and even resulted in my truck being rendered locked in PARK because of incorrect wiring and required the truck to be towed to **************. Resolution of all these problems eventually required 6 separate trips from my home in ********* to **************, but eventually it seemed everything was worked out. However, last week I took my truck to my local **** dealer for its ****** mile service and in the course of the service, the mechanic found that Campways had wired the keyless lock feature of the truck shell not to the correct place in the fuse box, but to the airbag wiring harness instead. Why this did not result in an accidental deployment of the driver's or passenger's airbag was a complete mystery to the mechanic and service manager at the **** Dealer. Random deployment of the air bags could be deadly. Once this error was discovered it obviously had to be corrected immediately as this was a serious safety issue. Furthermore, I could not be without the use of my shell so I paid $700 to the dealer to have the correct wiring installed.In general, my dealings with Campways ************** from the beginning was one of the worst experiences of my life, involving hours and hours spent unnecessarily driving to and from **************, waiting for hours in their waiting room for work to be done and also having to find alternate transportation to even get to work once my truck was undrivable.
