I would avoid going to Gomes Tire & Service Center due to some disturbing facts that occurred while I was a customer there for over five years. I bought a set of four tires from them with a printed agreement that the tires would be balanced as needed. Unfortunately for me, the tires eventually needed balancing while I was a customer there but it was never brought to my attention and swept under the rug. As a matter of fact, once I learned I needed new tires due to wear, I went to my regular honest mechanic who gave me the bad news. *** bad news being that my tires had inner wear consistent with those on a vehicle that had not been balanced as needed. My mechanic also informed me that I needed a balance and was troubled to learn that a tire servicing center that should have balanced my tires had not done so in a timely manner. I reported Gomes Tire & Service Center to the *******************'s ****** of ********** Repair that found that Gomes kept no record of the rotations that were done on my vehicle. *** business also failed to provide me with a form for me to sign about the work being done there. Gomes appears to pride himself on running a professional shop for many years but beware and be careful if you decide to go there anyway. Another problem which literally put my safety at risk on the road was during my visit to Gomes for a tire rotation. I was entitled to a rotation every five thousand miles. *** person assigned to rotate my tires always overinflated my tires to unsafe levels. Instead of putting air in the tires at 32 PSI, the mechanic would put in much more. I once found my tires in the 40's range, which was almost 10 PSIs over and unsafe. I found that only once did the mechanic put the correct amount of air in my tire and this was after I told the owner that my wife had died. I will give him one star for that moment of compassion. *** owner was not in a position to reimburse me for the balance I mentioned and I had to pay for it at my regular mechanic. *** ****** of ********** Repair representative did a professional job during his inquiry and provided the business owner with information on how he needed to conduct his business when it came to paperwork. He also educated the owner on safety practices related to issues I mentioned in this missive. I took the advice of my honest mechanic and purchased tires online. I felt Gomes products were not worth buying.
