Complaint: My bedroom door lock was drilled through without prior authorization and resulted in a charge of $174.The technician informed be of the possible solution and told me it could cost from $55 to $155 on top of the $19 base charge. I phoned my father for advice and before I new it the lock had been drilled and the technician demanded that I pay him which I did. The initial cost information provided was $19 to come out and depending on the type and condition of the lock would determine what it would ultimately cost. The minimum would be another $25. It took 2 minutes to drill the lock and the total charge was $174. I want are reduced charge. Product_Or_Service: locksmith services
Desired Settlement: DesiredSettlementID: Refund Refund possibly $100 of the total charge.
Business Response: Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/01/01) */ My company (ABC Locksmith Co.) did not do any job at this address.Unfortunately the locksmith industry is plagued with scam artists. I am afraid this is the situation here. Our service call charge is $65, that gets my truck to your front door, after that our hourly labor rate is $90 per hour... that is what I would have quoted on the phone. Final Consumer Response /* (3000, 7, 2014/01/03) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) That is not true. ABC Locksmith did come to my address. I have the receipt to prove it. Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2014/01/14) */ Again I say, my company (ABC Locksmith) did no do any job at this address. I would love to see a copy of this invoice, but it is NOT from my company
