I purchased a Vizio 5.1 Home Theater Soundbar system for $161.89 plus tax and the Allstate Protection 2-yr plan for $16.00. After 14 months, my soundbar started to shut off while I was watching TV. I contacted Allstate/Square Trade and was advised to send it in for repair, as I did. I received an email; they received the product and worked on it. A few days later, another email was received stating that the soundbar system was unrepairable. Here is a ******* gift card for the purchase price of $161.89 without including tax. The system now costs $196.99 plus tax, and the gift card does not cover the cost now. Square Trade is scamming consumers and lying that the item is unrepairable because replacing it costs them more than the plan I paid them to cover for the 2 years. Square trade banks on not losing. Very unethical practice when the plan I purchased vividly stated the item would be replaced or refunded but with the lies, that did not happen. ******* uses this third-party company for added protection, which adds nothing. Shameful.
