On 5/01/23, at 424pm ESTI had the unfortunate pleasure of speaking to "****" a financial coach with Balance. I was aware that the call was recorded for ***************** purposes in the beginning of the call. First off, I was surprised that **** was calling me at 4pm because I assumed he was going to call me at 7pm my time which would have been 4pm his time. I made a quick joke and ****** about the timing of the call, he made a snarky comment with an attitude something to effect, "we had already discussed it" I thought his tone and comment was unnecessary and off putting. I let the comment go and we proceeded to go over my budget and expenses etc. I gave him authorization for a soft pull of my Experian Credit report.After he pulled and reviewed my credit report and went over my expenses he told me that Balance was unable to assist me due to that my expenses wouldnt support the debt management plan. I was left stunned and shocked. I said to **** you wasted almost an hour of time for nothing. I also asked him so "Balance" would not be willing to negotiate on behalf for lower rates and payments etc... He said no. I felt like Balance let me down and what made it is worse, **** was condescending and rude. People who reach out to seek credit counseling need empathy and understanding, not patronizing and rudeness. His demeanor was akin to a person in mental distress seeking help, but the medical provider saying we cant help you and you go it alone. I have used credit counseling from Balance in the past and I was treated with dignity and respect, but this time, I was treated like second class citizen. As a veteran and US citizen I deserved better than what **** gave. He needs a new job. I am also posting this on YELP. BTW: I wish I could give Balance a negative number of stars...Balance gets -10 Star Review. Thanks to ****.
