topOn January 24, 2013 BBB was notified of a scam email from Wells Fargo Bank to consumers asking consumers to update their account information. The email did not resemble an email that Wells Fargo Bank would send. BBB contacted Wells Fargo who notified us that the link at the bottom of the page does not take you to Wells Fargo's website, and appears to be an email phishing scam.
Wells Fargo suggests visiting their website at www.wellsfargo.com and clicking on the link to report phish and email scams, or you may also send copies of the fraudulent emails to reportphish@wellsfargo.com.
