Complaint: company performed unauthorized checks and failed to fix the problem in which I requested. I was charged for services which I did not request. I requested this company to check my covertable top for my **** ******** ****** I misplaced the information for my usual mechanic and came here. I left the car for half a day and when I returned they had not fixed the problem nor have an idea about what was wrong. Instead they performed a serious of "courtest checks" and tire checks for which I was charged but NEVER requested. It appears he "synchronised and cleared the codes" for the convertable top but unable to diagnose or fix the issue. He told me he needed a few days to figure out the problem. I requested my car back after having to pay 284.50 for I don't know what! Luckily I was able to contact my usual mechanic and took in my care a few days later, not only was he able to fix the issue within a few hours but I was charged 120.00. I returned to ********* and informed him and requested a refund. ********* said he would call me regarding the refund. I never heard back and did not receive a refund on my statement.
Desired Settlement: I'm requesting a refund
Business Response: Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/03/07) */ DC appeared 2pm on Monday no appoitment with conv top stuck down. Hard top had been on for a long time and was removed. DC approved $324 in diagnosis time. DC went for a walk. All vehicles that come in go through a "Courtesy Check" to make sure there are no safety or service issues (noted and approved on repair order). There is no charge for this and we did not charge him as he stated we had. We cleared the fault codes for the top and resyncronized it which usually will bring them back to operation. Code *** which is a pump function code came up. My Tech is off at 4pm but worked till 5pm and need more time to finish. I offered DC a free loaner vehicle so we could resume in the AM. He declined and stated he will drive it to his Uncle's garage till he had more funds available due to a large construction bill just paid on a property. He will return later. DC Posted a negative review before saying a word to me. He then took it to a Technician who "Moon-Lights" that finished what we had started. When DC came in requesting a refund I asked him for a copy of the repair order for the final repair. He stated "There is no repair order, it's a cash deal". I asked for the technicians number to find out what the final result was and DC refused. We were with his vehicle for 3hrs and charged 1.75. No good deeds go unpunished!
