Car was returned over 3 weeks ago, loan was not "unwound". Wells Fargo bank has yet to receive monies after numerous calls: I am liable for moniesVehicle Purchase date 21 Feb, 2015, Refund / car return date 28 Feb 2015. Loan was to an "unwind" with Wells Fargo Bank 27 Feb, 2015.Wells Fargo Bank has yet to recieve monies, but **** ***** of Cal West Motors informs them monies have been sent. It is now going on 3 weeks and I am liable for the unpaid loan of a car they still own. Vehicle 2001 Volks Wagon Passat VIN# XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

06/22/2015Problems with Product / Service | Read Complaint Details

E-mailed request to buy used truck @ full ad price. Dealer fed-exed docs, I signed them, sent them back. Day later they call sold truck/someone else!
Made offer to buy truck at less than advertised price in both a phone call and an e-mail. **** *****, salesman/owner responded with e-mail that said he felt it would bring full price. He convinced me. I e-mailed him "OK, I'll take it". No response. Soon after I called and asked him if he wanted me to wire funds to secure purchase. he said," No. I'll Fed-Ex the docs and you sign them and include a check".
2-3 days later, no docs rec'd. Called him again and he said "Fed_ex didn't come to pick-up", That was a Sat. He said they would go out on Monday. Rec'd them on a Tuesday, signed them, included a check for the full amount, re-Fed-Exed them on Wed. May 13. 2015.
They rec'd them Thus. May, 14 @ 2:30 PM according to FedEX. Fri. May 15, **** ***** called my home around 9:30 AM an informed my wife that they sold the vehicle to someone else! This was a shock! My wife called me at my office right away.
**** ***** informed my wife that "a vehicle really isn't sold until it leaves the property! Is this true and legal? or false and illegal?
In the docs, I left note on sticky notes that I intended to p/u the truck on Sat. May 16. Sun, May 16 or at the latest Wed. May 20.
I called **** ***** right back and angrily accused him of selling my truck to someone else and that I planned on hiring an attorney for contract violation. I'm in process of determining the law to see if it's on my side or his before proceeding. I regret not making a copy of docs, but there is a clear FedEx trail of the docs back and forth and I got a receipt when I mailed it back, as I personally went right to a FedEx office to mail it back ASAP. I wanted that truck.

Desired Settlement
I would like to get that truck and re-pay them, or receive the value of the truck including all licensing fees and taxes $8900.00 for damages.
Obviously, as soon as I heard he sold truck to another party, I called my bank and placed a "stop payment" order on the check. This can be reversed, however, according to my bank if he gets truck back from other buyer and let's me contact bank.

We had multiple telephone calls, emails going back and forth. Mr. ***** wanted lower price, wanted us to deliver our truck to him and over-all very demanding over the telephone. We FedExed documents on Monday May 11 with a due date of Wednesday May 13 on the contract. We did not receive documents on May 13! We had another customer here on May 14 with cash in hand and ready to take delivery. We sold our truck May 14 AM. We received FedEx from Mr. ***** May 14 PM. We returned check to Mr. *****. Vehicles are considered sold when the customer takes delivery. We wish we had a greater supply of highly popular Ford Ranger 4X4 PU in this price range available to sell. We only had 1. Unfortunately for Mr. *****, someone else got here 1st. Often times customers change their mind after inspection and test drive. For this reason we operate on 1st come, 1st serve basis.

My initial offer was only $500 less than asking price. I asked for delivery, not unusual for a busy professional not having time to drive 75 miles through very congested Bay Area for pick-up of vehicle.I did not receive docs from FedEx until late afternoon May 12. They said they would send them on Fri. May 8 or Sat. May 9. They claim FedEx did not come for doc pick-i=up.There was no "deadline" on the documents. This is false, a manufactured, made-up excuse to create a false defense. They never called me on Wed, May 13 or even on Thurs. May 14 to ask about document status.
These guys are just money-grubbing used-car sharks, the worst of the worst! They treat people like ****! They are liars and cheats.

We have faxed a copy of our Purchase Order to BBB today. Included on Purchase order is the May 13, 2015 Due Date. The order is signed by ***. *****.

We wish we had more than 1 of these trucks.

Waiting over one month for dmv paperwork to be delivered from Cal west motors, they claim they sent to wrong address and will not fix
They have the dmv send paperwork for them after i bought the car and they also hold an extra key until it is sent

Had taken nearly a month to get my dmv registration and extra key to my car.will not negotiate to go fix dmv paperwork which they claim was labeled with the wrong address from them.horrible customer service between both sakes department and customer service

To whom it may concern,
We sold ****** ********* a vehicle on ******** and registered it at CA DMV on his behalf on ********** At the time of sale we placed a ** Used Vehicle Report of Sale on his windshield which temporarily registers vehicles sold by ** Dealers for 90 days. His address on all of our paperwork, including DMV forms, is his correct **** ********** **** address. Somehow and erroneously a DMV Clerk Employee entered his address into the DMV Computer System incorrectly as **** ********** ***** ****** was in a hurry to get his registration and called our Office Manager. She told ****** she had mailed his registration to him and he said he had not received it. She further investigated, checked addresses and realized the DMV error. On 10//10/2013 she asked DMV in to correct his address information in the DMV Computer System and a corrected Registration was issued. This was then mailed to ******. Mistakes like this are rare but can sometimes happen. Our Office Manager went out of her way to help our customer on his behalf with DMV. DMV transfers can often take up to the allotted 90 day time frame due to the complicated processes at ** DMV. We did everything right in this case. DMV made the error. Cal West Motors corrected the error and in a very short period of time. We want to again take this opportunity to thank ****** for his business. We appreciate it! Cal West Motors Team.

When you have waited 20 days to even register the car is not even me being in a hurry, it's bad business wouldn't have waited over 20 days for any kind of down payment, why would i want to wait over a month for my registration? Another thing is someone going out of their way to help someone in a situation like this doesn't take over two weeks.also the key fob i was finally sent is not operable without using something to push the switches since all the rubber buttons are gone from it

We register dozens of cars every month and hundreds each year. We register vehicles for our customers in order they are sold. We attach a CA State Report of Sale to every sold vehicle. These State issued documents temporarily register vehicles sold by CA dealerships and are valid for 90 days. We did everything right and as fast as possible.
When we received the ******* *** we noticed the key remote was damaged and not working properly. We then ordered a new key and remote from our lock company which was included with the vehicle. ****** asked if had an extra key we could send him so we sent the original damaged key to him. Most vehicles we receive have only 1 key and or remote. At least he has a spare to use now in case he loses the new key and remote we provided. **** *****
