BBB Accredited, Devaney & Associates, Wins Eight Alfred Knight Awards

Devaney & Associates, a full-service advertising, marketing, and public relations agency, announced today that it received eight awards – including this year’s “Best in Show” honor and six first-place “Awards of Excellence” – at the 2014 Alfred Knight Awards for Excellence in Healthcare Marketing. The awards were presented by the Maryland Society for Healthcare Strategy and Market Development (MSHMD) during an April 4 luncheon held at the Sheraton Columbia Town Center.

Devaney & Associates secured the Best in Show award for a report it designed and developed for the Maryland Hospital Association (MHA) entitled Who Will Care? The report highlighted the results achieved by MHA’s “Who Will Care?” initiative and thanked its donors, who raised $17 million in funds to help Maryland’s colleges and universities double the number of graduating nurses in the state. The 20-page publication profiled each school that received funding from the program and showcased the positive ways the funds were used to cultivate future generations of Maryland nurses. The piece was also awarded a first-place Alfred Knight “Award of Excellence” in the category of Special Purpose Publication or Brochure.

In addition, Devaney & Associates also received five “Awards of Excellence” and one second-place “Award of Merit,” all for projects associated with Carroll Hospital Center in Westminster, Md. Winning projects included:

Awards of Excellence – First Place

  • Best Physician Referral, Recruitment or Retention Marketing: The launch of Carroll Hospital Center’s “Care Connect” health management service
  • Best Product or Service Marketing Program: an advertising campaign for Carroll Hospital Center’s new Center for Breast Health
  • Best Advertising Tactic – Electronic (TV, radio, or online): The Carroll Hospital Center Health Chat, a reoccurring interview series on WTTR-AM in Westminster
  • Best Media Relations Tactic: A feature story in the Carroll County Times highlighting Carroll Hospice’s 2013 “Hospice Heroes”
  • Best External Newsletter: A Healthy Dose, Carroll Hospital Center


Awards of Merit – Second Place

  • Best Product or Service Marketing Program: an advertising campaign for Carroll Hospital Center’s orthopaedic services
