Baltimore, Md., September 12, 2013 - Better Business Bureau Serving Greater Maryland presented two local businesses with the Torch Award for Marketplace Excellence at the Pillars of Trust Leadership Conference luncheon on September 10, 2013 at the Grand Historic Venue. The two winners, Nu Look Home Design, Inc. and Roland Slate Service Company, Inc., as well as two finalists, Russel Toyota and Fick Bros. Roofing & Exterior Remodeling Company, were recognized for their long-term dedication and commitment to BBB's Standards for Trust in all aspects of their business.
These awards of high achievement pay tribute to businesses that demonstrate high standards of honesty and integrity toward customers, employees, shareholders and their communities. A panel of independent judges, including previous winners, evaluated nominees on common criteria: companies were judged on criteria that included an ability to identify high ethical standards; long-standing reputation; truthfulness and accuracy in sales, promotional materials and advertisements; as well as effective management practices and policies that promoted an ethical workplace.
