Better Business Bureau Serving Greater Maryland works to provide free education, information and dispute resolution services to consumers, and targeted populations including seniors, low-income and military families. BBB is a 501(c)6 not-for-profit organization located in Baltimore since 1917.

Community Service Highlights

l Maintained and/or compiled over 40,000 Business Reviews on companies in our service area including 18 Maryland Counties and Baltimore City that were viewed over 1.1 million times
l Provided free resolution services concerning disputes valued in excess of $1,683,981 to more than 7,000 consumers while earning a 99% satisfaction index for disputes involving BBB Accredited Businesses and 76% for all other Maryland businesses
l BBB volunteers served 1,340 consumers through our annual Shred Day, while providing educational material on avoiding identity theft and free, on-site shredding of 21 tons of documents
l Partnered with the Consumer Protection Division of the Office of the MarylandAttorney General, Postal Inspector and FTC on investigations of Maryland businesses supplying complaint statistics, detail and contacts
l Managed complaint resolution of manufacturer warranty, "lemon law," issues at no cost for more than 20 Maryland consumers 
l Worked with the news media to expose substandard business tactics, fraud and industry warnings
l Investigated and reported fraudulent web sites, resulting in the shutdown of such websites.
