In June 2015, BBB asked Auto Showcase Motorcars to address a pattern of complaints alleging service issues and unfavorable market place conduct.
Specifically, consumers alleged:
**Price increases after seeing price advertised online
**Major repair issues within one day of leaving the dealership
**Undisclosed issues with car at time of purchase
**Warranty cancellation concerns
**Poor customer service from sales staff
**Unreturned calls to customer service and/or long waiting periods
The business provided a written response to these allegations. Portions of their response are included below:
**Regarding pricing concerns:
The business indicated that all contracts are explained prior to sale and consumers are provided copies to review. They stated: "Our online prices are advertised with explicit statements that the prices do not include taxes, tags, etc. We will honor the online prices as a sale price when the customer requests."
**Regarding mechanical issues with the vehicles:
The business indicated that all cars are put through a comprehensive inspection process prior to purchase and have enlisted "separate, non-affiliated shops to do many of our Maryland State Inspections." The business also indicated that they "have supplied rental vehicles and performed work that falls out of warranty as a gesture to our customers. Warranties are also offered for purchase at the time of sale and strongly recommended."
**Regarding warranty claims:
"All warranty cancellations are forwarded to one of our office staff. Her primary responsibility is to respond to all cancellation requests and to verify the completion of said requests. This duty has been emphasized as her primary role."
**Regarding customer service concerns and long wait times:
"The treatment of our customers is our primary focus at Auto Showcase. Personnel that do not feel the same do not continue to be employed by our company...We have set up a direct, cellular line to our service managers in order to minimize response time. All managers have also been instructed to find a resolution with the customers as soon as possible."
