Complaint: We took are 2003 Ford focus in to westerly to get the cam shaft seal replaced . At which time westerly said we had a a/c accumulator hose leaking and ask if the a/c worked we said yes it works fine no problems . Westerly asked if we would like it repaired . I said how much the owner of westerly said about 90 for the hose and 95 for evacuating the a.c system and recharging. I told him right then do not do the repair if it is going to cost more we could live with the leak. Westerly did not look up the part correctly to see that a new accumulator was required at the time of hose replacement and had the system apart then called us i said no don't work on it . Then he informed me he already had taken the hose apart and would cost me an extra 400 or so dollars to fix .I said i told you not to touch it if was going to be over what you quoted . He put the car back together did not fix the problem and when we got the car back the a/c did not work any longer Because they did not recharge the a/c system back. My problem is this i told them not to repair the leak if going to be over a certain amount . They did any way and now refuse to fix the a/c unit in the car which they never should have touched in the first place as you should know which parts get replaced with what job all you have to do is a little investigating to find out . He said all he would do is recharge the system . No good enough he should have investigated which parts he needed then called and this would not have been a problem .
Desired Settlement: I would like the parts replaced as I told Westerly not to touch it if it was over a the amount he quoted for the a/c hose .Westerly took it apart first instead of investigating the parts required to fix the car and then giving the quote. Then gave us back a car that when it went to westerly had a/c working and when we got it back it had no a/c .
That is not what happened and he knows it. He states That we showed up and said remove the parts . Not true
This is his Quote ( We did install and when customer arrived to pick up car he said to remove the hose and put his old hose on. They called at a later date and stated ac was working when they brought the car in and it is not working now, and they would bring it back. They had family illness and could not return to have ac repaired untill March 27. )
This is what happen . Some one from Westerly called me to tell me it would be an extra four hundred dollars and some change for the hose, accumulator ,and labor that is when i said no . While i was on the phone with westerly tire is when he was told not to do the a/c job. Then
later that day we went and picked up the car from them. I did not show
up and say take the parts off and wait around for them to do so. While talking to westerly on the phone they stated that they had already put the parts on and they have 3 hours labor into the job . I said i did not approve any thing over $90 please put it back like it was . Like it was meaning with cold air blowing from the vents and working. When we got it back it did not work because they did not recharge the system with the refrigerant that they took from our car. We told them the day we picked it up that the a/c worked before they touched it and they admitted to capturing the refrigerant when they took the a/c system apart as per law and if there was refrigerant in the system to capture then it was working when we took it to them . Now they are trying to act like it did not work . He admits the fact about the $90 in his reply again proving me right His words (We asked if they wanted to repair A/C leak and they would repair if not over $90.00 for the part) . If he admits on the if not over $90 for the part then Westerly should not have put the other parts on with out calling and checking first Westerly did not call first. Westerly put the parts on then called .
I do not intend to get into a I said he said argument with Mr ****. I will repair the car as stated previously and I will also pay for the replacement of the hose.
