BBB files indicate that this business has a pattern of complaints concerning product quality issues, delivery issues, advertising issues, guarantee/warranty issues, billing/collection issues, and customer service issues. Killer Motorsports has responded to all complaints lodged against it.  Although the company has issued a response to every complaint, it has not resolved all complaints.  When addressing consumer complaints, Killer Motorsports cites company policies as the basis for its decision whether to refund or replace parts.  In responses, the company refuses to reimburse labor fees, stands by its decision to charge shipping, return shipping fees, and a 20% restocking fee if a shipment is refused or cancelled, refuses to warranty parts if a licensed mechanic does not assemble the unit, etc.  The company claims its terms and conditions are agreed upon by the consumer when a purchase is made.

Consumer complaints allege of dead batteries, transmission problems, faulty motors, damaged frames and fenders, faulty carburetors, missing parts, missing assembly manuals, etc.

Delivery Issues
Consumer complaints allege delayed delivery of products. Despite advertising all orders are “processed and shipped within 5 business days from the date of purchase (but usually within 24-48 Hours),” consumers frequently report the company does not meet its advertised delivery promise and they must wait weeks for the product to arrive.  In addition to delayed delivery of ordered products, consumers also report that replacement and warranty parts take weeks to months to arrive.  Specifically, some consumers complain their units arrived damaged, defective, or missing parts.  In response, Killer Motorsports promises to rectify the situation by sending replacement parts.  However, weeks and months pass without the promised parts.

Advertising Issues
Advertising complaints allege the company fails to meet its advertised delivery timeframe, the company fails to supply advertised purchase specials like gloves, bags, tee shirts, and utility racks, the company fails to send a Manufacturer’s Certificate of Origin (MCO) within 48 hours of the request as advertised, the company misinforms consumers about bikes being green sticker certified, and the company falsely advertises BBB membership.

Guarantee/Warranty Issues
Customers allege receiving a damaged or defective product from Killer Motorsports thus necessitating submission of a warranty claim.  Despite following the claim process, weeks and months pass without replacement of faulty parts.

Billing/Collection Issues
Some consumer complaints allege refusing a shipment or being instructed by Killer Motorsports to refuse a shipment based on the unit arriving in a damaged state.  After refusing the damaged shipment, she contacted Killer Motorsports to obtain a refund.  In response, the company states since consumers did not make contact with them prior to refusing the product consumers would only receive half their money back.  Consumers were told they would be responsible for shipping and return shipping charges as well as a 20% restocking fee.

In August 2010, the company met with the BBB to discuss the pattern and increasing volume of their complaints. The company agreed to provide a plan of action, contact information to include in their report and a summary of critical steps that consumers should follow when purchasing vehicles.
The company has requested the following to be included in this report for consumers:

Many of our customers are first time buyers. If you are not experienced with motorized vehicles these essential steps will help you to have a successful fun experience. If the proper steps are not followed it may cause many problems to occur.
a. The first three short rides are the most important time of any product purchased on KMS as outlined in our warranty terms and guidelines as well as our knowledge base system. 
b. Please take the time to read our maintenance section, watch the videos, and learn about your new hobby and purchase.
c. Problems can be prevented before they start by following our step by step break in process example. If there is a warranty issue, claims maybe filed via our website in our Warranty Claims Section and are responded to withing a 24-48 hour period during the normal work week.
