My husband and I drove over 6 hours to purchase a truck from John **** on 4/13/23 that he said was in immaculate condition and was the previous owners “grocery getter”. Upon getting to the car lot, he had all paper work ready to be signed and was rushing us to take a quick look at the truck and get the papers signed, not even offering for us to test drive it until my husband asked. We noticed minor scratches/dings on the truck which comes with a truck that is 7 years old with 127,000+ miles on it, but it most certainly was not someone’s grocery getter. My husband did take it on a short test drive and he said it drove nice and we would purchase it. The truck was sold “As Is” and when my husband asked John what he would do if we broke down on our 6+ hour trip back home, he said he would come get it and give us our money back. After owning the truck for 2 weeks and 3 days, only putting a few hundred more miles on it and not even pulling our stock trailer with it yet, the transmission started slipping and not shifting correctly. We took it to a local garage and after hooking it up to a computer and getting a P0796 error code, we were told we needed a new transmission. John refuses to make it right with us, claiming he pulled a trailer with this truck a lot for the 6 months it had been on their car lot, and never had a single problem with it. He also told my husband it had a fresh oil change, which was a lie, as we had to change the oil just a couple days after we got home with the truck because it was losing oil pressure. I do not recommend doing business with D&T Auto Sales, even if they have been in business for decades.

Adding on to my previous review on 5/2/23, we just went to pick our truck up from getting the transmission rebuilt, costing us over $4,100, and we are lucky to have even made it home from Kentucky when we purchased the truck, let alone the driving we did in the truck after purchasing. The shop that rebuilt our transmission said someone that DIDN’T HAVE A CLUE what they were doing worked on the transmission, there were parts missing not only from the transmission but also the MOTOR, and the motor wasn’t even bolted under the hood correctly! Jeeze! We traveled 6 hours home with this truck with our 5 children in it. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH JOHN ****!!!
