Complaint: Home builder did not complete tasks, porch left unfinished and incorrect. Has been over a year since possesion. -Front porch has not been finished for over a year now -Keep getting promises of work to be completed, nothing has ever happened -Contractor contact, **************, has stopped responding to messages -What has been installed is poor and incorrect -Items to be finished include, -steps badly built and crooked -porch was supposed to be skirted in all the way around, this has not been completed at all -also basement bathroom was badly finished and needed to be repaired, this was never signed off as being completed by me. -***** had a contractor come in and repair the drywall but the room still needs to be painted -***** said this would be done but again nothing has been done -There are many items that have not been signed off on from the possesion inspection. -Alquinn has completly abandodned me and has not completed items.
Desired Settlement: Finish what I have paid alot of money for! -Paint the basement bathroom -Repair front stairs -Finish skirting on front porch

Since we have been made aware of these issues, we have done a full inspection of his home. Must items will be taken care of within 1-2 weeks, other items will be depending on supply. Also the availability of the homeowner. Please see list below for items that will be completed. Front Deck - Gapping @ edges and bowed Deck skirting - nails & Screws not filled Forms not removed from sidewalk Back door closet doors rubbing Paint BSMT floors & Stairs Fill hole in mechanical room Replace BSMT bathroom floor & Baseboard Sand & BSMT bathroom floor Fill BSMT floor cracks If you have any more questions please ask. Complaint: Change order signed March 26, 2014. Possession date may 8, 2014 Fencing still not complete as of today's date and builder now refusing to build
Desired Settlement: A fence to be built as promised in the signed change order.
Business Response: Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2014/10/29) */ There is no change order signed to include a fence. The purchaser requested a price for a fence. The purchaser did not agree. Attempts to meet to resolve have been refused by purchaser. Meeting invites have been sent for 3 months. Attempts to resolve with help of legal advice have been refused by the purchaser. Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 14, 2014/11/03) */ We do have a signed change order and the builder is fully aware of this. The builders legal representation has even admitted to this signed order and the inclusion of the fence. As far as us the purchaser refusing to meet, we disagree. We were told by our sales person that we are not getting a fence and that was final, a final decision on Alquinn's behalf. At no time has the owner of the company contacted either of us. This fence was to be included in purchase and Alquinn Homes is strictly trying to find out away to get out of doing promised work towards our purchase. We are still awaiting home warranty completions in our home from time of purchase that again are not being resolved and Alquinn is avoiding. This issue needs to be resolved immediately as we run out of patience. Final Business Response /* (4000, 16, 2014/11/17) */ Both parties have change order with fence crossed off. Customer invited to meet, refused. Customer discussed with lawyer in attempt to resolve, refused. Customer asked for contact info of neighbour in order to split fence cost (documented). This is now being handled with lawyer, as documentation is clear. It is our desire to resolve however refuseal by customer to meet makes resolution all but impossible. Alquinn does completed work contracted for. The fence was not and is not.
